Retrotech

Retrotech, Inc. is a warehouse-automation systems integrator originally founded in 1985 and based in West Henrietta, near Rochester, New York. The company today operates as part of the KION Group, a Germany-based material-handling and supply-chain technology group, following an acquisition completed in 2016 through KION's Egemin Group affiliate; Retrotech was subsequently folded into KION's Dematic brand.

Retrotech's current site describes AS/RS for pallets, cases, totes, and trays, warehouse management and control software (WMS/WCS), goods-to-person picking, conveying and sortation equipment, and cross-dock and consolidation systems; the Jivaro packaging machine is also listed. Retrotech's historical specialty, built over three decades as an independent integrator, was designing, installing, and modernizing AS/RS and warehouse-control software for food and beverage, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, automotive, and e-commerce customers, including a large unit-load AS/RS installation at a Procter & Gamble facility in Lima, Ohio.

Before the KION/Egemin acquisition, Retrotech was owned by Savoye S.A., part of Belgian group Legris Industries, and reported roughly 140 employees and about 70 million dollars in 2015 revenue. The company continues to operate from its Rochester-area location as Dematic Retrotech within KION's Dematic business.
