Company Overview

QST Corporation, formally Shanghai QST Corporation Co., Ltd., is a Shanghai-based fabless MEMS sensor company founded in 2012 and headquartered in the Xinwei Zhihui Valley building on Dingxi Road in Changning District, Shanghai. The company designs inertial, magnetic, pressure, and infrared sensor chips for consumer electronics, automotive, and industrial customers. Its flagship product is the QMI8658 six-axis inertial measurement unit, a 2.5 x 3.0 x 0.86 mm 14-pin LGA package combining a 3-axis gyroscope with 15 mdps per root-Hz noise and a 3-axis accelerometer with ranges up to plus or minus 16g; the chip supports MIPI I3C, I2C, and SPI interfaces and shipped more than one million units within three years of its 2018 launch. QST also produces the QMC6308 magnetometer, a 0.8 x 0.8 x 0.5 mm wafer-level chip-scale package with plus or minus 30 gauss range and 2 milligauss resolution used for electronic compass functions in smartphones and wearables, the QMP6990 digital barometric pressure sensor used for drone altitude sensing and robot-vacuum dustbin monitoring, and the TSD14, TSD15, and TSE64 infrared temperature sensors for non-contact body-temperature measurement.

QST holds AEC-Q100 automotive-grade qualification along with ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 26262 (ASIL D), and IATF 16949:2016 certifications, and it supplies automotive sensor modules for chassis-control, engine, and transmission applications in addition to IoT modules for smart-farming and livestock-tracking use cases. In October 2018 the company closed a Series B round backed by Shanghai Lianhe Investment, the Shanghai Beyond Moore equity fund, the China Investment Creation venture fund, and Chongqing LinKong Development and Investment Group, a round it describes as the largest single financing in China's domestic MEMS sensor design sector at the time.

In 2024 QST divested its Magotan magnetometer subsidiary to listed peer Naxin Micro for roughly 683 million yuan, and in August 2025 it moved to take control of Shenzhen-listed Ancar Testing through a two-stage share purchase and voting-rights transfer, an alternative route to public markets after its 2023 STAR Market IPO guidance process slowed. QST was named a national-level Specialized and Sophisticated Little Giant enterprise in 2025 and has been recognized among China's top ten MEMS semiconductor companies, with its six-axis IMU winning a China Chip technology innovation award in 2022. Its sensors are designed into smartphones, true-wireless earbuds, game controllers, drones, robot vacuums, e-bikes, projectors, tablets, and vehicle telematics boxes.
