PSTproducts GmbH is a German engineering company headquartered at Junkersstrasse 1 in Alzenau, Bavaria. It was founded in 2003 by Dr. Pablo Pasquale and Dipl.-VW. Wolfgang Schutz to commercialize Electromagnetic Pulse Technology (EMPT) for industrial manufacturing, and operates today as an independent, family-run business.
EMPT is a contact-free process that welds, joins, forms and cuts metal parts in about 25 microseconds without applying heat, allowing the joining of dissimilar material combinations such as aluminum to steel or copper that are difficult to weld by conventional thermal methods. PSTproducts develops, manufactures and installs complete EMPT machine systems, including robots, turntables and transfer-belt workpiece carriers that automate part feeding and handling within a production line. Target applications include battery and e-mobility component production, lightweight aluminum structures, sheet-metal and tube joining, and pharmaceutical packaging.
The company launched its PSxx BlueWave pulse-generator series in 2007, opened representative offices in Sweden, the United States and India in 2008 and 2009, and expanded further into Asia between 2014 and 2018 as battery and electromobility demand grew, opening PSTproducts CHINA Ltd. in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, in 2022.
