Portable Intelligence Inc.
Markham-based developer of RF Plus and TED warehouse management software giving manufacturers barcode-driven, real-time inventory and task tracking.
Portable Intelligence Inc. is a Canadian software company headquartered in Markham, Ontario that develops warehouse management and warehouse automation software for manufacturers.
Its core product, RF Plus, is a barcode-driven warehouse management system (WMS) that delivers real-time inventory control, shop-floor and warehouse transactions, asset and forklift tracking, and task management, integrating with existing ERP systems. RF Plus is closely associated with Infor VISUAL ERP and, according to the company, has been deployed at more than 200 companies running that ERP. The company's second product, TED (Task Engine Distributor), uses indoor facility maps and real-time tracking of equipment, labor, and tasks; it lets managers plan, assign, and monitor work for individuals or teams, set deadlines, and follow progress live across warehouse and manufacturing operations. Portable Intelligence positions its tools around improving throughput, accuracy, and labor efficiency in inventory and distribution environments rather than around hardware. The business maintains a head office at 7181 Woodbine Avenue, Suite 223, Markham, Ontario, and operates an R&D lab at the ventureLAB Innovation Space in the Markham Convergence Centre.
Founded in 2015, the firm cites over 25 years of combined supply chain experience among its team and serves manufacturers across North America. Its mobile WMS applications run on handheld and rugged devices, and the company has published guidance on managing those devices with tools such as Microsoft Intune. Portable Intelligence focuses on the software and data layer of warehouse automation, connecting barcode scanning, location tracking, and task orchestration to ERP systems used by discrete and process manufacturers.
