Pole Mer Bretagne Atlantique (PMBA) is a French maritime competitiveness cluster serving companies, academic institutions and professional organisations in Brittany and the Atlantic regions. Its offices are at 525 avenue Alexis de Rochon in Plouzane, on the Brest technopole. The cluster has 458 members and reports more than 642 labelled projects, EUR 1.96 billion of associated R&D investment and 85% of labelled projects obtaining funding. It also runs a partners club and works with its sister cluster Pole Mer Mediterranee.
Its work is organised in six strategic domains: defence, maritime safety and security; naval and recreational boating; marine energy and mineral resources; marine biological resources; coastline and marine environment; and ports, infrastructure and logistics. Autonomy-related activity includes the labelling of member D-ICE Engineering's Oceanics project, an intelligent control system for autonomous ships funded through the national i-Nov competition, and member news on AI machine vision used on uncrewed surface vessels during the REPMUS 2026 naval exercise on drones and autonomous systems.
Services include the Pole Mer project label, support for innovation, structuring and European projects, international development, training and a member directory.
