PFT 34 Méc@innov

PFT 34 Méc@innov (Plateforme Technologique 34 Méc@innov) is a public technology transfer platform established in 2001 in Béziers, France, operating under the French national PFT (Plateforme Technologique) program coordinated by the Ministry of Education. It federates the equipment and expertise of five educational institutions in the Hérault department: the LPO Jean Moulin high school in Béziers (mechanical design and manufacturing, electrical engineering), the IUT of Béziers (electronics, multimedia professions), the IUT of Montpellier-Sète (industrial computing), the Joliot Curie vocational school in Sète (industrial automation, sheet metal), and the Charles Alliès vocational school in Pézenas (plastics and composite materials).

The platform's primary mission is to support regional SMEs in their innovation projects by providing access to specialized equipment and technical expertise that small companies could not afford independently. Services include technology transfer, experimental development, feasibility studies, prototyping, and technical assistance in the fields of mechanical design, mechanical production, electronic mechatronics, and industrial computing.

Equipment available includes 2- and 3-axis CNC lathes, 3- and 4-axis machining centers, rapid prototyping machines (FDM 3D printers), Strato-Conception layered manufacturing equipment, and an incremental forming and machining cell. PFT 34 Méc@innov has joined Robotics Place, the French robotics industry cluster, reflecting its engagement with robotics and automation technologies. The platform is co-funded by European structural funds (ERDF) and regional authorities, and actively participates in regional innovation forums and trade shows organized by the Occitanie Region and local chambers of commerce.
