Cheetah Mobile-backed Beijing maker of commercial service robots - LuckiBot delivery, GreetingBot reception, CleaniBot cleaning and CarryBot warehouse lines
Beijing OrionStar Technology Co., Ltd. (猎户星空), trading internationally as OrionStar Robotics, develops and manufactures commercial service robots. It was founded in September 2016 by Cheetah Mobile (NYSE: CMCM), which took a majority stake in December 2023; reported disclosed funding is about USD 40 million from investors including Cheetah Mobile, Zhongke Xinke, Jingji Capital, ZNstartups and Future Capital.
The product range covers four lines. Delivery: LuckiBot, LuckiBot Pro and LuckiBot Pro Autodoor, tray robots for restaurants that also handle bussing and guest guidance. Greeting and reception: GreetingBot Mini, GreetingBot Nova and GreetingBot AD, which use large-language-model dialogue with support for 30-plus languages and markerless deployment. Cleaning: CleaniBot S55 Pro, M1, K1 and C5, commercial floor machines combining sweeping, scrubbing and vacuuming with vision-based navigation and automatic mode switching. Warehouse: OrionStar CarryBot, an autonomous mobile robot for micro-fulfilment picking, returns and parcel delivery.
The company builds its own software stack, including the OrionOS robot platform, the Orion Voice OS far-field speech system (used by Xiaomi, Ximalaya, Midea, Dangdang and Yishiteng) and, more recently, AgentOS, described as a robotic agent operating system. Its image-recognition work placed first in Microsoft's million-celebrity recognition challenge. In 2023 it opened global beta testing of ChatGPT integration on its service robots.
Self-reported deployment figures are more than 60,000 units shipped globally as of December 2023 and over 550 million cumulative service interactions. Certifications include ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and ISO 42001, plus CE, RoHS and Korea KC marks. Distribution in Japan runs through a signed agreement with Sojitz Corporation. A US sales entity, Orion Star Robotics US Inc., operates us.orionstar.com.
