"Let's automate your tractor together"
Zwolle startup whose Bart kit connects to a tractor's CAN bus and RTK-GPS to make existing tractors drive and work autonomously.
Nivavi is a Dutch company in Zwolle that converts existing tractors into autonomous machines to help farmers cope with agricultural labor shortages. It was founded by Niels van Vilsteren with co-founder Marijn Romeijn, and its team includes backend and embedded software developers. The office is at Ceintuurbaan 15 in Zwolle, with a test location at Roodhuizerpad 1, 8024 PL Zwolle.
Its product, Bart, is an autonomy kit that connects to the tractor's CAN bus and takes over full control. Farmers plan the work in Nivavi's software, drive the tractor to the field and give Bart instructions via app or terminal; Bart then carries out the job autonomously. Positioning uses Nivavi's RTK-GPS antenna with centimeter-level accuracy, and users create or import field boundaries from which Bart calculates the most efficient route. All electronic tractor functions can be taken over, and hydraulics, lift, brakes and steering can also be controlled where they are not electric from the factory. Nivavi states that Bart was developed to the latest safety guidelines and operates fully insured. Demonstrations are available on request.
