Neofect Co. Ltd., founded June 3, 2010 by Hoyoung Ban and Scott Kim in Seongnam, South Korea, develops digital rehabilitation devices for stroke and neurological patients. Its flagship RAPAEL Smart Glove uses Bluetooth-connected accelerometer and bending sensors to capture hand movements, feeding a Learning Schedule algorithm that adapts game-based exercises to patient performance. The RAPAEL Smart Board targets shoulder and elbow reaching rehabilitation through interactive tabletop exercises.
Both products are clinically validated using the Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale and have been deployed in Korean hospitals since December 2014. Neofect also markets a Smart Pegboard for fine motor retraining. The company has expanded to the US market and operates out of Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley in Seongnam.
