Mojow Autonomous Solutions Inc. is a Canadian agricultural autonomy company with a corporate office in White City, Saskatchewan, and a development office in Edmonton, Alberta. Founded in 2020, it had nine full-time employees in 2022. Co-founder and President Owen Kinch previously spent five years as Director of Product Innovation and Development at DOT Technology Corp and farmed 3,000 acres in Saskatchewan for 17 years; co-founder and CTO Mojtaba Hedayatpour has worked on autonomous aerial and ground vehicles, and VP of Business Development Doug Schmuland brings 25-plus years of work with farm equipment OEMs.
The company's product is EYEBOX, a retrofit autonomy kit combining hardware and software. It is a rugged sensor unit with multiple cameras, GPS and an onboard processor; the software stack includes AI perception models that classify each image pixel, terrain-confidence mapping, obstacle detection, path planning, farm mapping and operation management, and it builds and updates a digital twin of the farm as machines work. Mojow's FarmScapes dataset underpins the perception models. Mojow sells to OEMs as well as farmers.
In July 2023 Mojow announced a collaboration with Versatile, a division of Buhler Industries: over six months the partners validated EYEBOX across Versatile tractor models, with Mojow taking control of steering, propulsion, lights, ignition and hydraulic remotes over the CAN bus, followed by demonstrations on a Versatile 610 at Ag in Motion and the Farm Progress Show. EYEBOX is compatible with Versatile tractors and with sprayers from the Dutch maker Agrifac. In 2022 the federal AgriScience Program committed up to CAD 419,000 to EYEBOX development, and the company lists CAAIN, Alberta Innovates, Innovation Saskatchewan, NRC Canada, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the University of Alberta and Lakeland College as partners.
