Microsure is a Dutch medical device company founded in 2016 by Eindhoven University of Technology and Maastricht University Medical Center, headquartered at Science Park Eindhoven in Son en Breugel, Netherlands. The company develops the MUSA microsurgical robot assistant, designed to filter hand tremors and downscale surgeon movements during open microsurgical procedures involving blood vessels, lymphatic ducts, and nerves. MUSA-2, launched in 2019, was the world's first CE-certified robot for open microsurgery.
The latest generation, MUSA-3, received CE Mark approval in May 2026, enabling commercial clinical use across Europe. In June 2026, the first patient operation using MUSA-3 was performed at Maastricht University Medical Center. Microsure raised €38 million in a 2023 funding round to advance MUSA-3 development.
The company's approach allows surgeons to continue using existing micro-instruments rather than adopting proprietary single-use tools.
