Company Overview

Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. is a Chinese surgical robotics company that began developing laparoscopic surgical robots in 2014 as an internal incubation project of the MicroPort Group and was incorporated in Shanghai in 2015. The company develops comprehensive intelligent surgical solutions by integrating robot mechanics, control algorithms, electrical engineering, image-based navigation and precision imaging. MicroPort MedBot describes itself as covering five subsectors of surgical robotics—endoscopy (laparoscopy), orthopedics, pan-vascular intervention, trans-natural-orifice surgery and percutaneous puncture—plus medical aesthetics solutions. Its flagship Toumai laparoscopic surgical robot became the first domestic four-arm laparoscopic surgical robot approved by China's NMPA in 2022, received EU CE certification, and has been used in telesurgery including 5G ultra-remote and cross-border procedures; the SkyWalker orthopedic joint-replacement robot, Honghu orthopedic robot, DFVision 3D electronic laparoscope, Mona Lisa percutaneous puncture robot and the R-ONE vascular robot complete the portfolio.

Toumai has gained access in over 60 countries and regions and surpassed 100 cumulative global commercial orders by late 2025. The company was renamed Shanghai MicroPort Medbot (Group) Co., Ltd. in 2021 and listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that year. Headquarters are at 1601 Zhangdong Road, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai.
