Matic Robots, formerly named Matician, is a consumer robotics company headquartered in Mountain View, California, founded in 2017 by former Google Nest engineers Navneet Dalal and Mehul Nariyawala.
The company's product is a combined robot vacuum and mop that uses onboard RGB cameras rather than lidar for navigation, mapping homes up to 3,000 square feet in under 20 minutes and distinguishing floor types such as rugs and tile to adjust cleaning mode automatically; all vision processing runs on-device, with no video or map data uploaded to the cloud. The robot supports voice and gesture commands through a feature called Matic Cues, spot-cleaning by marking areas in a companion app, and pairs a HEPA-filtered dust bag with a water tank for mopping; it sells directly to consumers for $1,495 with a 6-month trial period.
Matic has raised more than $115 million since 2017, including a $77.3 million Series B round in July 2025, from investors including Nat Friedman, Daniel Gross, and Stripe co-founders John and Patrick Collison. The company states its robots have cleaned more than 305 million square feet of flooring for customers to date.
