MasterMover is a British manufacturer of electric tugs, pushers and automated guided vehicles for moving heavy wheeled loads. The business dates to 1997, when founder Andrew Jones built a machine to help supermarkets move heavy roll cages; the current trading entity, MasterMover Ltd, is registered in England as company no. 6776797 and was incorporated in December 2008. Andy Owen became managing director in 2007 and a partner in 2009, and James Jones, the founder's son, joined as a partner in 2016. The company remains based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, with subsidiary offices in Germany, North America and France and a distributor network reaching from Spain to Korea.
The pedestrian-operated range spans the SmartMover (SM100+, SM200+, up to 2,000 kg), MasterTug (MT200 to MT600+, up to 20,000 kg), MasterTow tow tugs (TOW200 to TOW600 ES), MasterHandler (MH400+), AllTerrain (ATP400, ATT400+) and a Trailer Moving System (TMS2000). The PowerSteered series (PS3000+) handles up to 70,000 kg under wireless remote control and uses patented MultiLink technology that lets one operator drive several machines in synchrony for loads to 300,000 kg. Stainless-steel variants to 316 grade with IP ratings up to IP55 serve cleanrooms and washdown areas, and ATEX/IECEx versions serve hazardous areas.
The AGV line takes the same drivetrains fully autonomous, with models including the AGV 300 Tow (3,000 kg) and AGV 3000+ PS (30,000 kg). MasterConnect provides fleet telemetry and usage data. The company reports more than 20,000 machines delivered across over 70 countries, and holds the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade (2021) and the King's Award for Enterprise: Innovation (2023). Reported turnover is about GBP 15.06 million.
