Magellium Artal Group is a French data and software engineering company headquartered near Toulouse at Ramonville-Saint-Agne, with an office near Paris. Artal Technologies was founded in 1998 and Magellium in 2003; they merged in 2016, and since 2025 the majority shareholder has been the investment fund Eirene.
Activities cover earth observation and space surveillance, computer vision, digital geography and software and systems engineering. The computer vision line develops localization for platforms operating without GNSS, including the Lockeeper vision-based navigation system for drones in GNSS-denied environments and the MOBILEX ground robot fitted with sensors for autonomous navigation. In space robotics it delivered an autonomous navigation demonstrator for the ExoMars Rosalind Franklin rover, vision-based localization used to reconstruct the Philae lander trajectory on Rosetta, and navigation software for the MMX Phobos mission. Software products include Aquila and LittleFox for real-time video detection and tracking, C-Track for airborne military intelligence and Cartonuit for drone mapping of forest fires.
The group employs about 300 engineers and doctorate holders, has served more than 150 clients on over 350 projects, holds ISO 9001 certification and defense clearances, and spends 10 percent of revenue on research.
