LIPS Corporation is a Taiwanese developer of 3D depth-sensing cameras and vision software, founded in Taipei in 2013 by a group of scholars from MIT. The company designs its own camera hardware around three sensing methods - time-of-flight, active stereo and structured light - rather than reselling a single sensor type, and pairs the hardware with its own perception software.
Its LIPSedge camera line spans active-stereo models such as the AE400, AE430, AE450 and AE470 for longer-range industrial sensing, time-of-flight models including the T225, T235 and M3, and structured-light L-series units such as the L210u, L215u and L235 for close-range precision work; several models carry IP67 ratings and Power-over-Ethernet for factory-floor deployment. On top of the cameras, LIPS offers LIPSense software for 3D skeletal tracking, scanning and facial recognition, LIPSMetric for parcel and pallet dimensioning, and LIPSolution perception development kits aimed at robot integrators. The company lists Intel, NVIDIA, Ambarella and Advantech as technology partners and supports ROS/ROS2, GenICam and NVIDIA Isaac interfaces.
LIPS has been recognized with Taiwan's National Innovation Award for its LIPSView 3D display technology and with a 2026 Taiwan Excellence Award for its LIPSense 3D body-pose tracking, and it serves customers in robotics, autonomous vehicles and smart-factory inspection.
