Seoul electronics group (est. 1958, KRX: 066570) selling CLOi GuideBot, ServeBot and CarryBot service robots; controls Bear Robotics (51% since 2025).
LG Electronics Inc. is a Seoul-headquartered consumer electronics and home appliance manufacturer listed on the Korea Exchange (KRX: 066570). Alongside TVs, appliances and B2B display products, the company runs a robot business built around the CLOi family of autonomous service robots and a home-robot program.
Commercial robots. The CLOi line targets hotels, restaurants, hospitals, museums, airports, shopping malls, offices and government facilities. CLOi GuideBot, which LG presented at InfoComm 2022 as its first multi-purpose customer service robot, stands just under five feet tall, has a 9.2-inch LCD face and two 27-inch touch screens (front and back), a microphone, a 3D camera and 18 sensors including LiDAR, time-of-flight, magnetic, bumper and IMU sensors. It runs about nine hours per charge, recharges in five hours and travels at up to 1 m/s. Functions include wayfinding, escorting guests, voice Q&A in English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, motion-activated advertising and a patrol mode that records surveillance video, with a cloud interface for content and usage analytics. CLOi ServeBot is an autonomous indoor delivery robot for food, goods and supplies, and CLOi CarryBot covers AMR material transport. In the United States the line is sold through LG Business Solutions USA in Lincolnshire, Illinois, which also markets the robots to AV and systems-integration partners.
Bear Robotics. LG invested US$60 million in Silicon Valley indoor-delivery robot maker Bear Robotics in March 2024 for a 21% stake, then exercised a call option on 22 January 2025 to take an additional 30%, giving LG 51% control and making Bear Robotics a subsidiary. LG said it would combine its CLOi commercial robot business with Bear Robotics, keep Bear's management, and build an integrated software platform covering commercial, industrial and home robots.
Home and industrial robots. LG's Home Appliance Solution Company leads home robotics, including the Self-driving AI Home Hub (Q9) announced for release in 2025. At CES 2026 in Las Vegas LG showed CLOiD, a home-assistant humanoid with two motor-driven arms of seven degrees of freedom each, five actuated fingers per hand, and a head housing the main chipset, display, speaker, camera and sensors; it is positioned within LG's 'Zero Labor Home' vision and uses LG's Affectionate Intelligence to learn household routines through connected LG appliances. LG also develops autonomous vertical articulated robots under its Smart Factory business.
