LG CNS Co., Ltd. is a South Korean information technology and digital transformation company founded in 1987, originally as System Technology Management (STM), a joint venture between LG and Electronic Data Systems, later renamed LG-EDS System in 1995 and LG CNS in 2002. The company provides services spanning artificial intelligence, cloud computing, system integration, IT outsourcing, smart factory and smart logistics. Within robotics-adjacent automation, LG CNS designs and implements logistics automation systems that integrate autonomous mobile robots, automated storage and retrieval systems, sortation and conveyance equipment, and warehouse control and management software. The company positions itself as a total logistics solution provider covering consulting, design, simulation, center and system construction, and ongoing operation, and states it has implemented more than 300 logistics center projects across e-commerce, beauty, food, fashion and defense sectors.
In 2026 it unveiled a logistics robot engineered to operate in cold-chain environments down to -15 degrees Fahrenheit as part of its North American expansion. Its smart factory offering, Factova, applies AI, big data and IoT across the manufacturing lifecycle for production logistics management and factory optimization, and LG CNS was selected as an official AI and IT services partner by Honeywell to jointly develop factory automation and intelligence technologies. The company is headquartered at LG Science Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea, and operates as part of the LG Group, with Macquarie Group holding a minority stake since 2019.
