KAON Automation was an industrial automation systems integrator founded in 2005 and based in Collooney, County Sligo, Ireland, serving the medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, and electronics and consumer goods sectors. On January 9, 2026, the company was acquired by Automated Industrial Robotics Inc. (AIR) and now operates as AIR Sligo, part of the Automated Industrial Robotics group.
The company designs and builds custom automated assembly systems and high-speed and flexible filling machines, integrating robotics, machine vision, controls, and safety systems into production equipment for individual customer processes. Its project delivery spans scope definition and concept development, mechanical, controls, electrical, and safety design with functional design specifications, equipment build, assembly, debugging, and commissioning through factory acceptance testing, customer testing and documentation including CE marking and validation records, and on-site installation, commissioning, and validation support.
AIR Sligo continues to work with international medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers from the same Collooney facility. The Irish legal entity is registered as Automated Industrial Robotics Sligo Limited.
