"Developpement et production de solutions innovantes"
ISP Aquitaine is a Pessac engineering SME of Groupe ISP that builds special equipment and integrates FANUC, ABB, Staubli, Yaskawa and UR robots.
ISP Aquitaine is a French engineering and manufacturing SME (SARL, SIREN 437 848 690) based in Pessac, near Bordeaux. It was founded in 2001 by Didier Silly and Paul and Franck Sauvageot, initially to carry out optomechanics projects that needed a presence in the Aquitaine region. It is part of Groupe ISP, whose founding company ISP System was created in Tarbes in 1996 by the Sauvageot brothers to develop high-precision equipment; the group headquarters moved to Pessac in 2021. Alain Dongieux became director in 2007 and is the current manager (gerant). In 2010 ISP Aquitaine acquired SIRMES of Latresne, a maker of special industrial equipment, which was merged into it in 2015. The company reports revenue of 1.51 million euros and average annual growth of about 8%.
The company describes its expertise as automation, robotics, mechanics and optical systems. Its services cover CAD and R&D, production, metrology, cleanroom work and maintenance in operational condition (MCO). Its catalogue includes customer test cases, the Azotis range, laser and optomechanical equipment, vacuum control units, control boxes and a robotics offer. Work remains largely linked to defence, alongside special equipment for industry, and the company reports the 300th bonding of Rafale engine flaps.
In robotics, ISP Aquitaine integrates industrial robots of any size from FANUC, Staubli, ABB and Yaskawa, and collaborative robots from FANUC and Universal Robots. It designs custom end effectors, runs simulation studies (payload, cycle time, layout, maintainability) and implements guidance with synchronised robots, 2D/3D vision, force sensors and distance sensors. Two published projects illustrate this work. HAKKO, built for the French wine institute IFV with INRAE, is a robotic platform for small-scale fermentation trials in which a cobot moves 60 fermenters between stations measuring mass, colour and temperature, with individual PID-controlled thermal regulation and custom protocol software. ACHEAS is a two-arm cobot unscrewing assistant for helicopter turbine maintenance, designed to limit foreign-object-damage risk and log unscrewing torques.
Clients shown by the company include Safran, Dassault Aviation, Thales, Lectra, CEA, CNIM, SAFT and Smurfit Kappa.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Cobot-based robotic platform for micro-vinification trials across 60 fermenters, built for IFV with INRAE
Two-arm cobot unscrewing assistant for helicopter turbine maintenance with torque logging
