The company was originally established on research conducted at the Center of Robotics of Mines-ParisTech. Intempora develops and distributes RTMaps (Real-Time Multisensor Applications), a highly-optimized, component-based middleware for designing, executing, and validating real-time multisensor applications.

RTMaps is used primarily in robotics, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and highly automated driving (HAD) development workflows. The platform supports over 600 ready-to-use components and more than 150 sensor models from the automotive and robotics market. Customers include Renault, Valeo, Honda, General Motors, Toyota, Visteon, and Thales.

In July 2020, after a five-year partnership, dSPACE acquired Intempora to strengthen its autonomous driving portfolio. Intempora has approximately 22 employees and operates across Europe and North America.
