"Purposeful Intelligence"
Dutch defense-tech firm building Nexus, platform-agnostic C2 software that adds onboard AI autonomy to unmanned air, land and sea systems.
Intelic, the tradename of Amsterdam-based Avalor AI BV (KvK 82695806), is a European defense-technology company developing autonomy and command-and-control (C2) software for unmanned systems. The company was originally founded as Avalor AI in September 2021 by Maurits Korthals Altes and Jeroen Lappenschaar, who met in the Robotics and Autonomous Systems unit of the Dutch military, joined shortly after by co-founder Marc Derksen. It rebranded to Intelic in July 2025; the name signifies Purposeful Intelligence.
Its flagship product, Nexus, is a platform-agnostic military C2 software that unifies the fragmented landscape of unmanned systems. Nexus connects reconnaissance drones, strike drones, VTOL aircraft and unmanned ground vehicles across air, land and sea, bridging ground control stations and Battlefield Management Systems to provide a common operational picture and enable many-to-many mission control from a single operator. The system comprises two parts: Nexus Hub (the operator mission-planning interface) and Nexus Agent (an onboard AI co-pilot running on the platform itself). It integrates with standards and stacks including ATAK, LIRA, DELTA, ArduPilot, Auterion and ROS, and supports mission profiles branded Screen, Supply and Attack. In June 2024 the company raised a EUR 2M seed round led by Keen Venture Partners.
Its technology has been tested in Dutch live-fire exercises, the U.S. Army's AEWE 2025 at Fort Moore, and operationally in Ukraine since 2025. In May 2026 it launched Intelic BASE, described as Europe's first procurement hub for unmanned systems pre-integrated with Nexus. Partners and customers include the Dutch Ministry of Defence, TNO, NLR, Milrem Robotics, DeltaQuad, Auterion, ARX Robotics and Destinus. The company reports roughly 50 employees across the Netherlands and Ukraine.
