"Built for work that matters"
San Luis Obispo, California drone maker founded 2017; builds the Blue UAS-listed IF800 TOMCAT and the IF1200 hexacopter carrying up to 8.6 kg.
Inspired Flight Technologies (IFT) is a US manufacturer of commercial multirotor drones based at 225 Suburban Road in San Luis Obispo, California. Founded in 2017 with the aim of building secure drone systems domestically, it states that its aircraft are engineered, assembled and supported in the United States. Rick Stollmeyer is chief executive and a co-founder. The company entered the professional market in 2018 with the IF750 quadcopter.
The current line has two aircraft. The IF800 TOMCAT is a folding quadcopter with a 905 mm diagonal, a maximum take-off weight of 11.5 kg, a 3.0 kg payload capacity, a stated maximum flight time of 54 minutes, a top air speed of 22 m/s and wind tolerance of 10 m/s with 12 m/s gusts; it weighs 8.5 kg with batteries. The IF1200 is a heavy-lift hexacopter with a 1,025 mm diagonal, a 24.9 kg maximum take-off weight, payload capacity of up to 8.6 kg, a stated maximum flight time of 43 minutes, a top air speed of 25 m/s and wind tolerance of 12 m/s with 15 m/s gusts. Both are listed as NDAA compliant, Made in USA, and Blue UAS and Green UAS certified, the clearances US government buyers look for when non-Chinese aircraft are required.
The aircraft are open payload platforms: rather than locking customers into in-house cameras, IFT supports third-party LiDAR, RGB, EO/IR, thermal, multispectral and geophysical sensors, with Sony, Sentera and Gremsy equipment shown on its payload page. The GS-ONE ground station and the Inspired Suite software complete the system. Inspired Suite combines Elevate cloud connectivity, Inspired Ground Control (IGC) and PilotGo, providing pilot authentication, preflight checklists, in-flight alerts, field notes, aircraft health status and a Part 107 licence check.
Target markets are surveying and mapping, inspection and maintenance, research and public safety, served directly and through a dealer network. After-sales service is packaged as Inspired Care, ranging from a Foundation tier with a 12-month factory warranty and 48-hour support response to an Elite tier with a one-hour dedicated hotline, alongside pilot training services.
In August 2025 the company raised a 12 million US dollar Series A led by Tri-Valley Ventures, which it said would fund new product releases and the scaling of US manufacturing.
