Company Overview

Industry Alpha is a Japanese developer of autonomous mobile robots and control software for smart factories and warehouses, designing both hardware and software in-house and delivering complete automated transport systems. Its registered head office is in Azusawa, Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, and in June 2026 it opened a Nagoya headquarters alongside development and Kanaya sites in Nagoya's Moriyama ward. Takumi Watanabe is representative director and chief executive. Company databases record incorporation as Industry Alpha Co., Ltd. in August 2022, although the corporate newsroom carries AGV items back to 2021.

The current robot line has two series. Kagero is a low-profile lift-type AMR that slides under cart racks: the Kagero 500 carries 500 kg in a 900 x 630 x 185 mm body and the Kagero 1200, launched in October 2025, carries 1,200 kg at 960 x 800 x 210 mm. The series was named Kaghelo until September 2025 and reached its fourth generation in January 2025. Mikoshi, unveiled in April 2026, is a 600 x 600 x 300 mm AMR carrying up to 300 kg, with a modular top unit that can take a rack, a conveyor or a robot arm; a standard conveyor unit was completed in September 2026. All models travel at up to 72 m/min using SLAM navigation without magnetic tape and support automatic or manual charging. Earlier products include the Akatsuki AMR and the Kasumi picking-assist AMR from 2023.

The Smart Software suite comprises a fleet management system (FMS), equipment control system (ECS) for elevators, automated storage and other devices, location management (LMS), an operation control system (OCS) and traceability (TRS), with monitoring, analytics and digital twin modules and ERP connectivity. Operational support services cover pre-deployment analysis and simulation and post-deployment remote operation, and a forklift operation analytics service launched in 2024 and expanded in 2026.

Deployments and trials include an AMR system with local 5G at Koga Denki, forklift analysis with Asahi Beverages ahead of distribution-center automation, warehouse automation with Taiyo Shigyo, a retail automation trial with FUJI and smart factory verification with Suzuki. The company has worked with NTT East on local 5G showcases and with Nagoya University on AMR technology, and in 2026 signed an MOU with Malaysian engineering firm DreamEDGE to bring AMR and fleet management systems to Malaysia. It began offering solutions in Vietnam in 2023. The Kagero 500 won the grand prize at the 2025 Itabashi Product Technology Awards, and the company also received an encouragement award at the 37th SME Outstanding New Technology and Product Awards and a place in Toyo Keizai's Amazing Ventures 100 for 2024. Disclosed financing consists of a subordinated loan from Japan Finance Corporation, a Sugamo Shinkin Bank loan and public R&D grants from Aichi Prefecture and METI.
