Scaglia INDEVA S.p.A., trading as INDEVA Group, is an Italian manufacturer of intralogistics and material-handling equipment based in Val Brembilla, Bergamo. The company traces its origins to 1838 and has remained under Scaglia family ownership; Scaglia INDEVA S.p.A. was established in 2004 to take over the material handling division of Scaglia S.p.A. The INDEVA name stands for INtelligent DEVices for hAndling. The company says it introduced the Liftronic electric lift-assist manipulator at the end of 1970.
Its product lines are industrial manipulators (Liftronic electronic series, PN pneumatic series and the INDEVA HOIST), automated guided vehicles, the INDEVA Lean System of modular tube-and-joint structures, carts and kit boxes, and robotic automation. The AGV range covers standard tugger and tunnel vehicles, custom vehicles, accessories and complete intralogistics systems; specific AGV model designations are not published on the group site. Robotic automation, including production line automation and palletizing, is delivered through SysDesign S.r.l., in which Scaglia INDEVA acquired a majority stake by contributing the assets of its INDEVA Cobotics division.
The headquarters site covers about 15,000 square metres and employs roughly 170 people, supported by a network of branches, distributors and agents, including Scaglia INDEVA GmbH in Germany and localized sites for France, Spain, Turkey, China, India, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia. Target industries include automotive, aerospace, mechanical engineering, electromechanics and fashion; Airbus Helicopteres is cited on the site as having specified INDEVA manipulators for a new plant. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification and states it is subject to the direction and coordination of S.I.T. - Societa Italiana Trasmissioni S.p.A.
