"Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for water depollution"
French marine robotics startup founded 2016; Jellyfishbot autonomous surface robot collects floating waste and hydrocarbons in 28+ countries.
IADYS is a French robotics and artificial intelligence company founded in 2016 by Nicolas Carlési, Ph.D., a robotics engineer who witnessed marine pollution firsthand and set out to address it with autonomous technology. The company is headquartered in Roquefort-la-Bédoule in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southern France.
The company's core product is the Jellyfishbot, an electric autonomous or teleoperated surface robot designed to collect floating waste and hydrocarbons from harbors, marinas, lakes, rivers, and other water bodies. The Jellyfishbot's compact form factor enables it to navigate tight spaces such as marina corners and collect macroplastics, microplastics, cigarette butts, algae, organic waste, and hydrocarbon sheens. All robots are manufactured in France.
IADYS offers three product lines: the standard Jellyfishbot, the Jellyfishbot Expert (advanced configuration), and the Mobile Oil Skimmer (focused on hydrocarbon recovery). The robots are deployed in more than 28 countries and over 200 units are in active operation worldwide. Municipal clients include Cassis, Cannes, Marseille, Monaco, Saint-Tropez, Montpellier, Ajaccio, La Turballe, and Dunkerque in France, as well as international locations in Switzerland, Singapore, Tokyo, Norway, and Mayotte.
In November 2024, IADYS raised €10 million in a funding round led by GO Capital and INNOVACOM. The proceeds are earmarked for hiring across all departments and international expansion, including opening a subsidiary in the United States. The company has received recognition from the Eiffage Sekoya Club for its environmental innovation.
IADYS serves both public municipalities equipping their ports and harbors as well as private port operators and environmental remediation contractors. The company's technology sits at the intersection of unmanned marine vehicles, environmental robotics, and AI-based autonomous navigation.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Compact autonomous or teleoperated surface robot collecting floating waste and hydrocarbons in harbors and water bodies.
Autonomous surface robot specialized in recovering hydrocarbon sheens and oil spills from water surfaces.
