(formerly the Motor Industry Research Association, MIRA) is a UK-based automotive engineering, research, and testing consultancy headquartered at MIRA Technology Park, Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Founded in 1946 as a government-funded research body for the UK motor industry, it became MIRA Ltd. in 2001 and was acquired by Japan-based HORIBA Group in July 2015. The company operates an 850-acre secure proving ground on the site of the former RAF Lindley airfield, offering vehicle dynamics testing tracks, crash test facilities, aerodynamic design, EMC testing, and connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) development.
HORIBA MIRA provides engineering consultancy, product development, certification, and homologation services to automotive OEMs, defence vehicle programs, and government clients worldwide.
