Gebo Cermex was a French packaging line engineering company headquartered in Reichstett, near Strasbourg, France. The company was created in April 2013 through the merger of two brands: Gebo, founded in 1964 by Gustave Schoen, and Cermex, founded in 1977 in Corcelles-lès-Cîteaux, France. Both brands had been part of the Sidel Group, itself a member of the Tetra Laval Group.
Gebo Cermex specialized in end-of-line packaging automation including case packing, shrink wrapping, overwrapping, and robotic palletizing for beverage, food, and pharmaceutical markets. Its robotic portfolio included delta robots, 6-axis polyarticulated robots, gantry packers, and the CoboAccess Pal collaborative palletizing robot for low-speed Industry 4.0 applications. The company operated more than 20 commercial and manufacturing sites worldwide with over 37,000 installed systems.
As of January 1, 2019, Gebo Cermex and Sidel unified into a single team operating under the Sidel brand.
