F&P Robotics AG is a Swiss robotics company headquartered in Glattbrugg, near Zurich Airport, and incorporated in January 2014. The company's roots trace back to 1996 when founder Dr. Hans R. Früh established Neuronics Früh & Partner as a spin-off of the University of Zurich Artificial Intelligence Lab, producing compact 5-axis robot arms.
After a CTI startup label in 2003 and a decade of continuous growth exceeding 200 customers, the legal entity F&P Robotics AG was formally founded in 2014. The company focuses on lightweight collaborative robots under the P-Rob® product line — P-Rob stands for 'personal', emphasizing intuitive handling and intrinsic safety. The P-Rob 2 was launched in December 2015 with improved payload, 6 degrees of freedom, and the myP® software platform combining a real-time webserver with a browser-independent graphical UI.
P-Rob 3 followed in 2019 targeting R&D and project customers. In 2016 P-Rob was deployed on mobile platforms and linear axes for packaging applications (e.g. Natürli yoghurts). From 2017 F&P expanded into healthcare robotics: the Lio mobile robot assistant for service and care tasks in hospitals and nursing homes, the Massimo massage robot, and Guido for guided mobilization.
In 2018 F&P founded a subsidiary F&P Robotics China Co., Ltd. in Shanghai to address growing Far East demand. Following Dr. Früh's passing in early 2021, his son Michael Früh assumed the CEO role. F&P is a member of the Swiss Mobile Robotics Consortium and EUnited Robotics.
The company employs a multidisciplinary team spanning robotics engineering, AI, software, healthcare domain specialists, and China-based development staff. Key clients and research partners include Google and Volkswagen. Product certifications and ROS integration make P-Rob popular with universities and R&D institutes globally.
