"Serving Those Who Serve"
Redondo Beach, California drone operator founded 2014; ran Drone as First Responder programs that logged over 124,000 missions by 2026.
Flying Lion, Inc. (FLI) is a drone service provider based in Redondo Beach, California, founded in 2014 to serve law enforcement, public-safety agencies and municipalities. The company builds Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, covering setup, staffing and training, so a drone can reach an incident scene ahead of ground units and give responders aerial situational awareness.
Beyond DFR program development, Flying Lion runs an on-demand air-support service through a mobile command center staffed by a remote pilot in command and a visual observer, using HD and infrared cameras with real-time video streaming to personnel on scene. Its training division prepares candidates for the FAA Part 107 exam and runs flight courses built around National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines, and its FAA consulting practice helps agencies obtain Certificates of Authorization and waivers. As of September 2026 the company had logged more than 124,000 total missions, including over 106,000 DFR missions, nearly 86,000 combined beyond-visual-line-of-sight flights and about 34,600 flight hours, across more than 40 agencies nationwide.
Sky Ladder Drones, the company's commercial division, applies the same drone operations to public works, engineering and parks departments, handling facility inspections, mapping, aerial construction surveys and confined-space inspections.
