Company Overview

Flow International Corporation, based in Kent, Washington, USA, was founded in 1974 by former Boeing research scientists as Flow Research. The company invented and patented the world's first abrasive waterjet system and has since delivered over 12,000 waterjet and abrasive waterjet systems to customers in more than 100 countries. Flow manufactures ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) waterjet cutting machines, cutting heads, and replacement parts used across aerospace, automotive, job shops, food processing, stone fabrication, and general manufacturing.

The company also offers fiber laser and press brake technologies. Flow is a subsidiary of Shape Technologies Group, which acquired it in January 2014. With approximately 700 employees and offices across North America, Asia, and Europe, Flow holds a dominant position, accounting for nearly 60% of all waterjet systems sold globally.
