Firestorm Labs, Inc., founded in 2022 and headquartered in San Diego, California, develops radically affordable, mission-adaptable unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and point-of-need manufacturing platforms for defense applications. Its flagship Tempest drone is a Group 2/3 modular UAS with a 7-foot wingspan that fits in a man-portable case and is 3D-printed in approximately nine hours. The xCell is a containerized expeditionary manufacturing unit capable of producing up to 50 Group 2 UAS per month from two 20-foot containers.
Firestorm has raised $149.5M, including a $47M Series A led by New Enterprise Associates with participation from Lockheed Martin Ventures and Booz Allen Ventures, and an $82M follow-on in April 2026. The U.S. Air Force awarded the company a $100M IDIQ contract for 3D-printed UAS and next-generation autonomy.
