Company Overview

Exail is a French high-technology company, formed in 2022 from the merger of ECA Group and iXblue, that pioneers advanced technologies for critical operations from the deep sea to outer space. The group designs and manufactures inertial navigation systems (INS), inertial measurement units, gyroscopes and underwater acoustic positioning (USBL/LBL) solutions for GNSS-denied and subsea environments, serving over 70 navies and armies worldwide. Its robotics portfolio spans autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), uncrewed surface vessels (DriX series), remotely operated vehicles (R7 ROV), unmanned ground vehicles and complete unmanned mine-countermeasure (UMIS) systems, complemented by synthetic-aperture and forward-looking sonars, subsea manipulator arms and degaussing systems.

Beyond defense and maritime, Exail provides aerospace solutions including emergency locator transmitters, satellite and launcher inertial systems, RF space equipment and flight/maintenance training simulation, as well as motion-simulation tables, centrifuges and HWIL systems. Its photonics division supplies LiNbO3 electro-optic modulators, specialty optical fibers, fiber lasers, fiber Bragg gratings, quantum gravimeters and space-grade components for laser, quantum, sensing and space applications. Recent projects include selection by NASA to equip the LISA gravitational-wave observatory and by ITER for fusion-reactor diagnostic fibers. Exail applies its solutions across renewable energy, oil and gas, maritime construction, seabed survey, oceanography, mining and mobile mapping, combining precision engineering with leading expertise to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.
