EvoLogics GmbH is a Berlin-based company that designs and manufactures underwater acoustic communication and positioning equipment, autonomous marine vehicles and AI software for maritime users. It was launched in 2000 by a group of scientists and R&D engineers working across engineering and life sciences, and is represented by Dr. Rudolf Bannasch and Fabian Bannasch. The company manufactures in-house at its Berlin headquarters, uses open-water test sites in Brandenburg and runs a sales office in Yorktown, Virginia, for North American customers.
Its core technology is S2C (Sweep Spread Carrier), an acoustic signalling method derived from studying how dolphins communicate in difficult underwater conditions. S2C underpins a family of acoustic modems offered in several frequency bands (models 120/180, 48/78, 42/65, 18/34, 15/27, 12/24 and 7/17), USBL positioning systems including the USBL Buoy, integrated devices and underwater networking. Supporting software includes the DMACe modem emulator, SiNAPS positioning software, developer and service tools and EvoLogics AMA. A Diver Navigation System and AI-based object recognition tools are offered as solutions.
In robotics, EvoLogics applies bionic principles such as penguin locomotion and fish-fin biomechanics. Its vehicle line includes the Sonobot 5 uncrewed surface vehicle, the Quadroin AUV and the Poggy AUV. Sonobot 5 is a compact survey USV for bathymetry in inland and harbour waters: 1,291 mm long, 954 mm wide, with 120 mm draught and a weight of 24 to 33 kg depending on configuration. It surveys at 0.5 to 2 m/s, covers more than 30 km at 1 m/s and runs up to nine hours on swappable battery packs. It carries an EvoLogics S2C echosounder (80, 100, 200 and 400 kHz centre frequencies) and an EvoLogics 500/200 kHz side-scan sonar.
EvoLogics serves commercial survey and service providers, research institutes and universities, offshore operators and defence customers. The company is registered at the Berlin-Charlottenburg local court under HRB 77787.
