Company Overview

Emergent Vision Technologies Inc. is a Canadian machine-vision company based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, that designs and manufactures high-speed industrial cameras built around the GigE Vision standard over 10, 25, 50 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet. The company, led by founder and president John Ilett, was the first to bring 10, 25, 50 and 100GigE area-scan and line-scan cameras to market and is known for using RDMA-based zero-copy data transfer to losslessly move imagery at extremely high framerates and resolutions. Its area-scan portfolio spans roughly 0.5 MP to 150 MP and includes the EROS 10GigE series (the smallest, lowest-power 10GigE area-scan cameras in the world at 29 x 29 mm), the BOLT 25GigE, XTREME 50GigE, HR 10GigE and the flagship ZENITH 100GigE cameras built on Sony Pregius and Pregius S sensors. Its line-scan and TDI lineup ranges from 4K to 16K and includes the PACE 10GigE, ACCEL 25GigE and PINNACLE 100GigE families, with a PINNACLE 8K model reaching line rates of 1 MHz.

Beyond cameras, Emergent offers a complete imaging ecosystem: Theia (10GigE), Hermes (25GigE) and Zeus (100GigE) network interface cards with NVIDIA GPUDirect support on Linux and Windows, network switches, cables and accessories, plus eCapture and eSDK capture software and SDKs. Target applications include industrial automation and inspection, AI and deep learning, virtual reality and volumetric capture, sports broadcast and officiating, aerial imaging and mapping, and intelligent transportation systems. The company serves customers building advanced, high-bandwidth machine-vision systems worldwide.
