Voorthuizen, Netherlands start-up building CE-marked custom agricultural drones with 15-80 L tanks and 3-9 m spray spans for spraying and sowing.
Drone4Agro Ltd is a Dutch start-up in Voorthuizen, Gelderland, that builds custom agricultural drones for spraying, fertilising, sowing and related field tasks. Its team includes aeronautical, software, mechanical and agricultural engineers, and the company favours biological crop-protection inputs such as bacterial mixes and nematodes. In 2021 it announced a cooperation with Shandong UNID Technology Co., Ltd., and it states that its drones carry a CE certificate for the European market.
The published range runs from 5 to 100 litres of payload and is organised by spray span. The 3.0 m model has 8 motors and a 15 L tank. The 4.5 m model has 12 motors and a 25 L tank. The 6.0 m model has 16 motors and a 40 L tank. The 9.0 m model has 24 motors and an 80 L tank. Every model shares a 1.9 m length and 1 m height, 1 kW brushless motors with 0.75 m carbon-fibre propellers, 60 V 4C lithium-ion battery packs and a 20-minute flight time including safety margin. Batteries recharge to 80% in about 25 minutes. Control uses Px-family hardware running Drone4Agro's own programmable, automatic software, and an optional range extender is available.
The company also lists special projects: a painting drone for spraying large surfaces, an evacuation drone able to carry a wounded person, and a 100 kg-payload transport drone that is still at project stage. Prices are given on request.
