CRITT Automatisation & Robotique is a French regional technology transfer centre (Centre Regional d'Innovation et de Transfert de Technologie) located at 4 Avenue Pierre-Gilles de Gennes in Albi, Tarn, in the Occitanie region. It helps manufacturers, particularly small and mid-sized firms, with industrial processes, automation, robotics and special machines. The centre cites around 30 years of industrial experience and installed its first robotic process in 2008. Its team of 12 comprises six engineers and six senior technicians with skills in automation, mechanics and software.
Services cover robotised processes, automated installations and special machines, from feasibility study and design through manufacturing, commissioning and after-sales service. A test robot service lets companies run feasibility trials under real conditions to validate an idea or process before investing. The centre also supports Industry 4.0 projects involving IoT, artificial intelligence and data analysis. Example projects include palletizing, machining-centre tending, collaborative robot applications and food-industry automation, and the centre publishes a list of robots it has installed.
Technical resources include a KUKA six-axis robot, an Epson robot received in December 2024, a second KUKA robot intended for palletizing trials, a three-axis CNC machine (Mecanumeric), a hydraulic press brake, conventional lathe and milling machines, a tapping arm and TIG/stick welding equipment. Partners include IMT Mines Albi, the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Grand Albigeois urban community, the CCI du Tarn, the Occitanie Region and the European Union.
