Hong Kong surgical robotics firm whose Sentire endoscopic system holds CE Mark, Singapore HSA and China NMPA clearance for minimally invasive surgery.
Cornerstone Robotics is a Hong Kong surgical robotics company founded in 2019 and based at Hong Kong Science Park in Shatin, with further operations in the Greater Bay Area and the United Kingdom.
Its product is the Sentire surgical system, an endoscopic robotic-assisted platform developed entirely in-house. It combines lightweight surgeon-side arms, tremor filtration and motion-control techniques intended to help surgeons work in confined anatomical spaces during minimally invasive procedures. The company states Sentire has been used in urology, general surgery, gynaecology and thoracic procedures, and presented it at the Hamlyn Symposium on Medical Robotics in July 2026. Its engineering spans mechanical design, electronics, control software and visual imaging, all developed by an internal R&D team.
Sentire is cleared in three markets: China's NMPA approved it in September 2024, and EU CE Mark certification under the Medical Device Regulation and Singapore HSA clearance both followed in May 2026.
Funding has been substantial. An earlier round raised over 70 million US dollars, and an oversubscribed round of approximately 200 million closed in November 2025. On 2 September 2026 Medtronic announced a strategic investment of roughly 700 million dollars, taking distribution rights for Sentire in China, Singapore and Europe.
The company positions Sentire as a more accessible, lower-cost alternative to legacy surgical platforms, aimed at hospitals historically priced out of robotic surgery; its tagline is "Cornerstone of Better Healthcare". Headcount, the manufacturing location for Sentire hardware and specific hospital deployment sites are not disclosed, and detailed arm specifications exist only in press coverage and academic presentations rather than a published datasheet.
