Continental Automotive (FR)
French automotive electronics maker, formerly a Continental AG subsidiary in Toulouse, spun off as Aumovio in 2025 and listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Continental Automotive France is the French operations of Continental AG's automotive division, headquartered in Toulouse, France. The entity traces its roots to 1979 when it was founded as Renix, a joint venture between Renault and Bendix. Siemens acquired it in 1988, and it subsequently became part of Siemens VDO before being acquired by Continental.
The Toulouse site employs approximately 1,700 people and specializes in designing and manufacturing automotive electronics and mechatronics products, including sensors, control systems, tachographs, mobile applications, diagnostic tools, and rail diesel systems. In September 2025, Continental completed the spin-off of its Automotive group sector as a separate entity named Aumovio, which debuted on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with a market valuation of approximately €4.1 billion.
