The company develops the Versius Surgical Robotic System, a modular, multi-arm robotic platform designed for minimally invasive soft tissue surgery. Versius features independent modular arms for flexibility in setup across operating rooms and has been used in over 40,000 surgical procedures outside the United States across multiple specialties.
CMR received CE marking in 2019 and FDA de novo marketing authorization for Versius in October 2024. The next-generation Versius Plus obtained FDA 510(k) clearance for cholecystectomy. CMR also holds a CE/UKCA mark for use of Versius in pediatric surgery.
The company has raised approximately $1 billion in total funding, employs over 500 staff, and is valued at approximately $3 billion. Versius is the world's second most used soft tissue robotic surgical platform.
