ClearSens Inc. is a Morrisville, North Carolina startup founded in 2019, spun out of NC State University's electrical and computer engineering department. The company commercializes capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT) technology licensed from NC State, enabling compact, low-profile ultrasonic arrays under 1 mm thick with over 100% 3 dB fractional bandwidth. Products include single-element transducers and custom array solutions for wearable health monitoring, decompression sickness detection, photoacoustic imaging, distance sensing, underwater imaging, and human-machine interaction.
