Clarion Co., Ltd. was founded in 1940 as Hakusan Wireless Electric Company in Tokyo, Japan, and rebranded as Clarion in the 1970s. The company became a leading manufacturer of automotive electronics including car audio systems, navigation units, automotive PCs, and in-vehicle communication and visual equipment. Headquartered in Saitama, Japan, Clarion was majority-owned by Hitachi before Faurecia acquired it in March 2019.

Clarion was integrated into Faurecia Clarion Electronics, a new business group combining Clarion, Parrot Automotive, and Coagent Electronics to deliver cockpit electronics and software solutions for global automakers.
