CeiliX Technology GmbH is a German robotics and intralogistics startup based in Euskirchen that brings the advantages of ground-based mobile systems such as AGVs and AMRs to the ceiling. At the heart of its technology is the InfinityCrane, a multi-patented overhead system built from a modular ceiling rail (CeiliX Elements / CLX modules) on which omnidirectional SkyRunner vehicles move freely in any direction, forward, backward, sideways or diagonally, around obstacles such as pillars, pipes and cables. The modular rails come in standardized sizes (CLX-20 down to CLX-2.5, all 1.2 m wide) plus CutRight and CutLeft elements to build around obstructions, and can be installed, extended or reconfigured flexibly. The first SkyRunner handles payloads of 250 kg, with 500 kg and higher versions in development; multiple SkyRunners can operate simultaneously in tight spaces and even collaborate to lift, move and rotate heavier loads under control of a single operator.
Building on this platform, the CeiliX SkyBot carries robot arms, tools or other modules so that robotic operations can be performed overhead, and the company positions itself as a supplier enabling robot manufacturers to give their products ceiling-based mobility. By relocating transport and robot operations to the ceiling, CeiliX targets storage and production space savings of 30 to 50 percent while improving safety by separating worker and robot pathways. The company collaborates with partners including OnRobot, Bosch Rexroth, Kassow Robots, DLR, ESA and RWTH Aachen, and exhibited its InfinityCrane and Mobile Ceiling-Cobot at Automate 2025.
