Brigates Microelectronics Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company founded in 2008 and headquartered in the Kunshan Development Zone of Jiangsu Province, China. It designs CMOS image sensor chips, imaging modules, and camera systems, and completed a shareholding reform in 2019 that brought in outside investors.
The company's visible-light lineup spans small, medium, and large-format CMOS sensors, TDI line-scan sensors, radiation-hardened sensors, and single-photon sensors, sold under model numbers such as the BG0836 (1928 x 1088 pixels, 30 fps) and BG5082G (2568 x 2056 pixels, 240 fps). On the X-ray side it produces line-scan, area-scan, and CT image sensor chips with matching sensor modules, packaged into cooled scientific cameras, high-speed TDI line-scan cameras, and radiation-hardened cameras. X-ray products such as the supX1512 area detector and the iDTX and iLX line-scan series target PCB, welding, casting, and food inspection lines, while its high-frame-rate visible-light sensors serve as imaging front ends for drones performing autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance.
Brigates holds more than 150 active patents and over 13 registered software copyrights. It has been designated a National High-tech Enterprise, a Jiangsu Provincial Innovation Team, a Jiangsu unicorn enterprise, and a national "Little Giant" enterprise, a Chinese government designation for specialized technology manufacturers, with the latter two designations awarded in 2024.
