Swiss fleet orchestration software platform for autonomous vehicle operations, acquired by ZF
BestMile was a Swiss software company founded in 2014 as an EPFL spin-off in Lausanne, Switzerland, by Anne Mellano and Raphaël Gindrat. The company developed a cloud-based fleet orchestration platform enabling mobility providers to deploy, manage, and optimize autonomous and human-driven vehicle fleets. The platform supported fixed-route and on-demand mobility services across multiple vehicle brands and types, providing intelligent routing, scheduling, real-time monitoring, and passenger-facing interfaces. BestMile raised $33.4 million in total funding and was named a 2018 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer. In November 2021, ZF Friedrichshafen acquired BestMile's technology to develop a commercial vehicle Mobility Orchestration Platform. The company's operations have since been integrated into ZF.
