"World Leader in O-Ring Installation"
Erie, PA manufacturer of custom hand tools, semi-automatic and fully automated O-ring and seal installation machines for production assembly.
Automated Industrial Systems, Inc. (AIS) is a US manufacturer specializing in O-ring and seal installation and assembly machines. Founded in 1977 in Erie, Pennsylvania as a builder of custom assembly machines, AIS built its first O-ring installation machine in 1978 and has since manufactured thousands of systems deployed worldwide. The company designs and produces a full range of seal-installation equipment: external O-ring machines (the ASP series, including ASP-1, ASP-1M, ASP-1 LV, ASP-1HD-AM, ASP-2 and ASP-3), internal O-ring machines (the ISP series, including ISP-1, ISP-1HD-AM, ISP-2 and vertical and low-volume variants), automatic and robot-ready systems, external and internal retaining-ring systems (ARP-1, ARP-2 and snap-ring tools), custom hand tools, and inspection stations.
These machines install O-rings, quad rings, cup seals, lip seals, back-up rings and retaining rings on parts ranging from very small components to larger assemblies, with fast changeovers and high cycle rates. AIS operates a fully staffed engineering department with mechanical, electrical and electronic engineers, plus in-house machining and fabrication, allowing custom design to each customer's application. Quality is controlled via SPC, vendor qualification and 100% part inspection, and every completed machine undergoes final testing before shipment. The company serves the medical (including clean-room-capable machines), plastics, oil and gas, aerospace, hydraulics and automotive industries, and supports customers with training, service and spare parts.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
High-speed external seal installation for small-diameter O-rings, quad rings, lip seals and more.
External seal installation for larger O-rings, handling multiple seal styles with fast changeovers.
Fast, precise internal seal installation for O-rings, cup seals, quad rings and more.
Production external retaining-ring installation with consistent placement across multiple ring styles.
