Aligned Vision, formerly known as Assembly Guidance Systems, is a manufacturer of laser projection and machine-vision assembly-guidance systems headquartered in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Founded in 1987, the company originated the laser templating concept that year and delivered the first laser projector built for industrial use in 1990.
The product line includes the LaserVision-AI inspection system, LaserGuide2 and microLaserGuide laser template projectors, Align 4.0, LaserPath, BuildGuide, and KitGuide, along with a software development kit for integrating projection into third-party production systems. In 2016 the company added large-field machine vision with algorithm-based inspection, pairing projected laser templates with camera verification so operators can position composite plies, drill holes, route wiring harnesses, and build kits without fixed mechanical tooling. Systems are used in aerospace and composites manufacturing, welding operations, marine construction, wind-turbine blade fabrication, and Formula 1 race-car assembly.
