Arnold Automation is the industrial automation division of Arnold Packaging (formally Arnold's Factory Supplies, Inc.), a fourth-generation family business headquartered in Sparrows Point, Maryland, founded in 1933. The automation division was launched in 2017 by company President Mick Arnold and operationalized in 2018 under Vice President of Automation Kevin McHenry, a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute graduate.
Arnold Automation provides end-to-end packaging and warehouse automation integration services to manufacturers primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, including Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Washington D.C., with national reach for select projects. The division offers a broad portfolio covering robotics (6-axis robots, collaborative robots, pick-and-place, robotic palletizers), stretch wrap machines, case erectors, case sealers, case packers, shrink wrap equipment, strapping tools, marking and labeling systems, conveyor systems, vision inspection systems, and e-commerce fulfillment automation.
A notable differentiator is Arnold Automation's pioneering robot rental model — customers can lease custom robotic solutions on month-to-month to three-year terms, enabling flexible deployment without capital expenditure. The division was the first official US distributor of READY Robotics' TaskMate Robot-for-Hire platform, with customers including Black & Decker, Coty, and DAP.
In January 2024, Arnold Automation entered a strategic partnership with VisionNav Robotics to distribute VisionNav autonomous forklifts and intralogistics solutions across the United States. The division serves industries including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, warehousing, and general manufacturing. Arnold Automation is a member of A3 (Association for Advancing Automation) and listed on the Automate.org supplier directory. The parent company Arnold Packaging has annual revenues and partner relationships with 3M, Signode, and Sealed Air.
