Advex AI Inc. is a Berkeley, California-based business-to-business software company founded in 2023 by Pedro Pachuca and Qasim Wani. The company's flagship product, Composer, is a no-code AI vision system that enables industrial teams to train, deploy, and manage visual inspection tasks across manufacturing lines using vision-language models (VLMs) and synthetic data generated by diffusion models. Composer addresses the chronic problem of insufficient defect image data by automatically identifying data gaps and generating high-quality synthetic images, allowing deployment of production-grade visual inspection in minutes.
Use cases include porosity detection in welds, dent and ding detection on metal surfaces, scratch detection on leather, hole detection in fabric, and assembly verification. The system runs entirely on-device with no WiFi connectivity required. In November 2024 Advex AI raised USD 3.5 million in seed funding led by Construct Capital with participation from Pear VC, Emerson Collective, and angel investors including Arash Ferdowsi (Dropbox founding CTO).
Seven of the world's largest manufacturers have adopted the platform.
