A2Z Drone Delivery, Inc. is an American aerospace and engineering company founded in 2016 by Aaron Zhang and Evan Hertafeld, with roots at Brown University, that designs and assembles commercial unmanned aerial systems and supporting infrastructure in Torrance, California. The company launched the industry's first commercial drone delivery winch in 2019 and now builds the RDS2 Drone Winch, the Longtail hexacopter aircraft, and the weatherproof AirDock docking-and-charging station. The Longtail Cargo – AirDock Edition is a rugged all-weather hexacopter with a 5 kg payload winch and roughly 20 km total range, while the Longtail Patrol – AirDock Edition adds gimballed thermal and 4K cameras, a spotlight and megaphone with up to 35 km of autonomous range. AirDocks automate battery charging and enable hands-free, repeatable missions; multiple Longtails can share a single network of ground and elevated docks to run several services simultaneously, lowering start-up and operating costs for fleet operators. Target applications include last-mile and inter-site logistics, medical and blood/vaccine delivery, search and rescue, disaster relief, ship-to-shore and port logistics, linear inspection and autonomous patrol. Public deployments and partners include Walmart and DroneUp residential delivery trials, Skyports Drone Services (Port of Singapore ship-to-ship and Northumbrian Water sampling in the UK), Antwork Technology medical deliveries, hurricane-relief operations on Sanibel, and a multi-mission AirDock network in Anji County, China.
In 2026 the company joined Kazakhstan's Alatau City urban air mobility project. Products are designed, assembled and supported in the USA, and the aircraft are offered as off-the-shelf platforms customizable for last-mile delivery, patrol, inspection or ship-to-shore transport.
